Reinstalling SBS on Windows XP

Steps for Windows XP

To perform a clean install follow the steps below:

  1. If SqueezeCenter is running, please stop it by right-clicking on the Squeezebox icon at bottom-right by your clock, then select "Stop SqueezeCenter".
  2. Open Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs
  3. Scroll down to SqueezeCenter and click Uninstall (if you see Slimserver, uninstall this one as well).
  4. If you see a message asking you if you want to "delete all preferences and log files" please click "Yes".
  5. After the uninstall process is complete, download the latest version of SqueezeCenter from:


After the download is completed, try reinstalling SqueezeCenter and see if your issue still exists.


If you did not get an option to delete all preferences and log files, you will need to delete them manually. Here's how:

  1. Restart your computer
  2. Delete the SqueezeCenter folder (and SlimServer folder if it is there) in C:\Program Files
    1. Click on Start
    2. Click on My Computer
    3. Click on C:\
    4. Click on the Program Files folder
    5. Locate the SqueezeCenter folder and delete it (and SlimServer folder if it is there)
  3. Delete the SqueezeCenter data folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
    1. Click on Start
    2. Click on My Computer
    3. In the Address bar at the top of the page, type the path above
    4. In the Application Data folder, locate and delete the SqueezeCenter folder (and SlimServer folder if it is there)
  4. Download SqueezeCenter from:


After the download is completed, try reinstalling SqueezeCenter and see if your issue still exists
