Wireless Routers and Access Points, compatibility with Squeezebox products
Although most users seem to have no trouble connecting their Slim devices over a wireless connection, some have reported issues connecting to specific routers. Reports have been that this is due to compatibility issues between Slim Devices players and a particular access point/router.
The following tables list devices that have been tested and reported by users. Please feel free to add your particular configuration. Note there are 8 columns for each access point, corresponding to the 8 "|" under "|- valign="top" for each router. Simply copy and paste the router above your entry and modify with your details. If you have questions please email Ross@slimdevices.com. For further help editing wiki, see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing
NOTE firmware versions older than the latest official release may be removed from the wiki unless there's some reason to keep them.
If you have had difficulties connecting your Slim device using a wireless connection, please first try upgrading your Slimserver to the latest release.
(http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html ). If you still have compatibility issues ask on our forums and/or download a beta version. If you're still having issues, search our bug database for your router. If there's not already a bug, add your configuration details and file a bug and add the bug number here. If a problem has already been reported with your particular router, please edit the entry with your name and any additional information you can provide.
APPLE AIRPORT USERS: When reporting issues, please note the model number typically printed on the bottom of the unit (something like "A1034").
- Asterisk next to model number indicates QA has the router / access point.
- Bug numbers marked red are open bugs.

Seems quite flaky with the SBC. The controller often won't wake up, or randomly loses contact with the server. I've also had trouble with the SC and DHCP on this router. The SBC works fine on other routers (e.g. D-Link DIR655).

Security Modes
When referencing the security mode, the following modes are known:
- none - obviously no encryption
- WEP-64 - 64 bit wireless equivalent privacy (10 digit hex keys) aka 40-bit WEP
- WEP-128 - 128 bit wireless equivalent privacy (26 digit hex keys)
- WPA-TKIP - WiFi Protected Access with Temporary Key Integrated Protocol
- WPA-AES - WiFi Protected Access with Advanced Encryption Standard
- WPA2-TKIP - 802.11i compliant WPA with TKIP
- WPA2-AES - 802.11i compliant WPA with AES
Squeezebox1 supported the following modes: none, WEP-40, WEP-64, WEP-128. (Note: Squeezebox1 requires Shared Key authentication)
Squeezebox2 and Squeezebox3 firmware 28 currently supports: none, WEP-40, WEP-64, WEP-128, WPA-TKIP (labelled WPA Personal), WPA2-AES (labelled WPA2 Personal). WPA-AES is not supported.
PSK is short for "Pre-Shared Key", also referred to as "Personal", as opposed to other mechanisms for generating and distributing keys, such as a RADIUS server, which is not supported.
If using WEP, please also mention in the notes whether Open System or Shared Key authentication has been used as well.
