Clean Install - Mac OS 10.4.x

Logitech releases periodic updates that include new features, bug fixes, and other changes that improve SqueezeCenter. Normally you can install any new release over your current release with no trouble. However, if you run into trouble you may need to uninstall your current version and install the new version fresh.

Reasons for Performing a Clean Install of SqueezeCenter

• SqueezeCenter will not start successfully
• Firmware update fails on Squeezebox
• SqueezeCenter installation fails to complete
• Problems scanning music library
• Corruption of music database (MySQL)
• SqueezeCenter not displaying information properly
• Unable to choose computer running SqueezeCenter as a music source

Steps for Mac OS 10.4.x

To perform a clean install follow the steps below:

1. First, go to System Preferences, click on SqueezeCenter and click the "Stop Server" button. Close System Preferences.
2. Using Finder, remove the following folders and files
   1. Home > Library > Application Support > SqueezeCenter folder (if you see a Slimserver folder, remove this as well)
   2. Home > Library > Caches > SqueezeCenter folder (if you see a Slimserver folder, remove this as well)
   3. Home > Library > PreferencePanes > SqueezeCenter.prefPane and Slimserver.prefPane (these files may or may not exist)
   4. Macintosh HD > Library > PreferencePanes > SqueezeCenter.prefPane and Slimserver.prefPane (these files may or may not exist)
3. Download SqueezeCenter from: http://slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
4. After the download is complete, double click the file. This should open a folder.
5. Locate the "SqueezeCenter Installer" file, and double-click it. This will install SqueezeCenter.
6. After the install completes, the SqueezeCenter Preference Pane should come up. Click the “Start Server” button
7. Wait until the “Web Access” button is available and click it. This will launch your web browser.

Continue with the set up and see if your issue still exists.

Note: If you click on “Web Access” and you receive an error, wait a few seconds before you try again as the application may still be starting.
